Ashtanga
Builds Strength & Stability
Inner Light Yoga specialises in traditional Ashtanga and Hatha yoga, which are both based on one common principle of holding the asana (pose) for a particular time to revitalise and balance your mind and body.
In Sanskrit Ashtanga translates to 8 Limbs therefore the blueprint of Ashtanga includes:
Yama (ethical guidelines) & Niyama (personal observances)
Asana (physical postures)
Pranayama (breath control)
Pratyahara (withdrawal of the senses)
Dharana (concentration)
Dhyana (meditation)
Samadhi (union with the divine).
Together, with consistent practice these will guide you toward physical, mental, and spiritual growth.
Hatha
Nervous System Regulating
Hatha translates to "Ha" means Pingala Nadi (sun) which is the right and "tha" means Ida nadi, (moon) which is left side. Hatha Yoga practices results in balancing the entire nervous system resulting in balance of Body and Mind, physical energy and mental energy. When practicing Hatha we focus on balancing out both the right and left side, our sun and moon, our masculine and feminine energy.
